Bunny yoga is here to challenge the goat yoga trend... and it's for a good cause too by Jean-Sun Ahn

WATCH|  Yoga has a calming effect for many but if you're looking for a bit of a twist to your typical yoga class, you can now try "bunny yoga". Yes, yoga with bunnies hopping around while you're in downward dog and child's pose.

You can take bunny yoga classes at Sunberry Fitness in Richmond, Canada but they only have a few a year and they sell out quickly. "We sold out of the class very quickly this time around," bunny yoga organizer, Alexa Kulak said.

The class costs $20 per person and all the proceeds go towards Bandaids for Bunnies, a shelter dedicated to helping abandoned rabbits in Richmond, BC find shelter and appropriate medical care. "It really is calming and relaxing to have bunnies next to me while I'm in my yoga poses. I can't have pets in my apartment so it's nice to come here and play with rabbits," a class attendee said.

A group of volunteers with Bandaids for Bunnies bring the bunnies into the studio and ensure the bunnies are on their best behavior.

"Here in Richmond, BC we do have a problem with people abandoning their pet rabbits and they decide they don't want them so they abandon them in local parks. Once there are two they just start multiplying." Since 2011 the shelter has been rescuing rabbits found throughout the general Richmond area, raising awareness about the abandonment issues.

You can donate to the bunnies here and visit to learn more about the shelter.
