A lockdown at Redstone Arsenal Army Base in Hunstville, AL on Tuesday has reportedly lifted, according to WJLA.

Officials reportedly believed the community was no longer threatened by a possible active shooter.

Gov. Kay Ivey (AL-R) on Tuesday purportedly confirmed Tuesday afternoon there was no shooter, ending the lockdown.

The base entered lockdown Tuesday after reports of a possible active shooter near the facility.

Dan O'Boyle, a spokesperson for Redstone Arsenal Army Base, reported that everyone was given a "shelter in place" command.

The base tweeted about the incident.

Rep. Robert Aderholt (R-AL) tweeted that he will be monitoring the situation.
