If you want Obamacare coverage, sign up by midnight tonightby Circa News
Happening

The deadline to sign up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act is today at midnight Pacific time. Enjoy that head start, East Coasters.

States with their own insurance plans may have different deadlines.

This may be a risky gambit, as President Trump and congressional Republicans have vowed to "repeal and replace" Obamacare. It's not clear how or when the repeal will take place and what will happen to those currently covered by the law. About 11. 5 million people had enrolled as of Dec. 24.

"It's still the law, so it's in your best interest to have insurance. People think something has happened, but the ACA is still the law."

Elizabeth Colvin, Insure Central Texas, to NBC

Even if the law is repealed, signing up by tonight means customers will be covered by March and avoid a hefty tax penalty.

Elizabeth Colvin, program director of Insure Central Texas, said Obamacare won't be repealed quickly.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
