Peyton Manning will reportedly join Trump and Pence at a Republican retreat this weekendby Mike Denison

The congressional Republican retreat scheduled for this weekend will feature NFL legend Peyton Manning as a speaker.

Manning will join British Prime Minister Theresa May, President Trump and Vice President Pence, The Washington Post reports

During the Republican primary, Manning backed Jeb Bush. He has donated to other Republicans in the past.

He hung out with Trump's son Donald Jr. last summer.

"I very much have always liked Peyton Manning. He is a very good guy. I know him. And he is a very, very good guy."

Trump himself said he's a friend of Manning.

"It's just a friendship. I have a lot of friends. I call a lot of people."

Trump is also good friends with Manning's NFL archrival, Tom Brady. The Patriots quarterback told WEEI he and Trump had known each other for 16 years, but also wondered why that friendship was "such a big deal."
