We recreated the terrarium eye makeup beauty trendby Circa News

WATCH | Terrarium eyes is a 3D makeup trend that uses real flower petals on your eyelids along with colorful eyeshadow and no shortage of glitters. It was first introduced by Ellie Costello, a U.K.-based makeup artist popularly known as @makeupisart_x on Instagram.

"I got the inspiration for the terrarium eye makeup purely from the beautiful flowers that were growing in my garden," Costello wrote in an email. "The makeup community on Instagram is also a huge inspiration in itself -- there are so many talented artists on there who create beautiful looks that inspire me all the time."

The 19-year-old currently works at MAC Cosmetics as an artist when she's not creating terrarium eyes and other eclectic looks for her 20,000 Instagram followers.

Costello said it takes her about an hour to do one of the terrarium eyes.

"My dream would be to see my terrarium eyes on the runway," she said.

At Circa, it took our makeup artist about 30-40 minutes to recreate a more subdued version of the original look. We paired baby's breath flowers with red leaves and put them over a layer of rosy eyeshadow and some gold glitters.

Costello also offers makeup tutorials on her YouTube channel.
