WATCH | Dozens of elaborately painted and decorated little gnomes appeared at NailPro magazine's nails-only show in Pasadena, California, as -- well, you probably guessed it -- 3D nail art.
The annual NailPro competition features 3D nail art contest each year with different themes in different cities.
For the spring of 2017 in Pasadena, it was gnomes, and competitors spent anywhere from weeks to months creating delicate and elaborate spreads of 10 nail pieces only using professional nail products like acrylic, gel, resin, polish and rhinestones.
Each piece was judged based on originality, colors, complexity, workmanship, tip length, presentation, design, balance and theme.
There were many pieces that were actually wearable after the competition (if you so wish). Would you ever wear these?
But of course, some might be too big to actually put on your nails.
Artist Akiko Yamakawa from Los Angeles won first place at this competition.
