There's a chance you could get sick at the pool from a poop-inducing outbreakby Circa News

Summers were made for swimming, but one report warns the pool might be more of a health hazard than you think.

According the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Cryptosporidium outbreaks have doubled from 16 to 32 between 2014 and 2016.

Cryptosporidium "is a disease that causes watery diarrhea," which has the potential to spark an outbreak.

Some pools have already started urging residents to not poop in pools, shower before swimming and not drink pool water.

A recent survey found 25 percent of adults swim while having diarrhea and 20 percent of adults pee in the pool.

The Health Department also found that 52 percent of adults "seldom or never" shower before swimming.

The Health Department advises pool goers to stay out of the pool and wash often and well.
