Kellyanne Conway's husband slammed Trump for his travel ban tweetsby Circa News

Kellyanne Conway's husband, George, took to Twitter Monday to criticize President Donald Trump for his travel ban tweets.

Trump tweeted saying the Justice Department should have stuck with the administration's original travel ban and not the "watered down, politically correct" version that was submitted to the Supreme Court.

Conway, who was at one time being considered for at least two high-ranking Justice Department jobs, tweeted saying the President's tweets could hurt his case.

On Monday afternoon, Conway posted a series of tweets to clarify his first.

The Trump administration asked the Supreme Court last week to reinstate its travel ban, which prevents people from six majority-Muslim countries from entering the U.S.

Last month, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit ruled that the travel policy was "rooted in religious animus and intended to bar Muslims from this country," and, therefore, was in violation of the Constitution.

In last week's Justice Department filing, the administration argued the court made a mistake in its ruling and should have focused on the language of the revised ban, not the motivation for Trump's executive order.
