Donald Glover hinted to Saturday night's crowd at the New York City Governor’s Ball that his next album as Childish Gambino would be his last.

He ended his set with his top 40 hit "Red Bone" and then cryptically said, "I’ll see you for the last Gambino album."

Glover then walked off the stage without offering up a release date or album title.

Glover has released three albums since 2011 under the stage name Childish Gambino. His latest album, "Awaken, My Love!," has sold 175,000 copies, USA Today reports, citing Nielsen Music.

Glover got his start working as a writer for the NBC comedy series "30 Rock." He's best known for his role as Troy on the comedy series "Community."

His Governor's Ball performance was his only announced show of 2017.

Although fans on social media immediately went into mourning because of Glover's announcement, this isn't the first time he's hinted that his music career may come to an end.

In a 2015 interview with the Today show, Glover said: "I want to have periods in my life. I feel like Childish Gambino is a period that should come to a close. I like endings."
